Museum
Visit the new streetcar museum in the Strathcona Streetcar Barn. The displays contain information, pictures and artifacts about the history of streetcars, the Edmonton Streetcar System and the museum cars of the Edmonton Radial Railway Society. Streetcar models, historic tickets, punches and uniforms are also on display. A number of short powerpoint presentations will answer most of your questions and a colour film of Edmonton's streetcars in 1949 is a delight to watch.
Opening Times
The museum is open 10am - 2pm on Saturdays from May long weekend until Canadian Thanksgiving (October). The museum remains closed during the annual Fringe Festival.
Ad-hoc openings may be possible - watch out for the sign when riding the High Level Bridge Streetcar!
Special openings for charter groups may be negotiated.
Entrance during regular opening hours is free - donations are welcome.
Location
The museum is located in the Strathcona Streetcar Barn on 103 Street and 84 Avenue (at the north end of the Farmer's Market building). A visit can easily be combined with a ride on the High Level Bridge Streetcar.
